Bitte verzeihen Sie mir, ich bin noch nicht fließend im Deutsch. Ich suche für meine Urgroßeltern, Julius Richard Pollitt (oder Pollette), von Marienfelde, und Louisa Reis, von Liebemühl. Ich habe nichts von ihrem Leben gefunden, bevor sie in die USA kam. Ist jemand vertraut mit diesen Namen? Sie scheinen eher selten heute in Deutschland. Hat jemand Vorschläge für gute Quellen zu benutzen?

hier könnte man vielleicht die Geburtsurkunde der Louise Reihs finden:

Die StA Liebemühl findet man hier: http://olsztyn.ap.gov.pl/baza/szukaj.php

Einfach bei Nazwa oryginalna: rechts auf den Pfeil klicken, nach unten scrollen bis auf StA Liebemühl und dann auf szukaj drücken.

Es kommt sich eine Seite mit vielen Jahrgängen – auf den gewünschten Jahrgang (z.B.1885) klicken. Es kommen viele, viele Zahlen – das sind die scans. Auf eine Nummer (z.B.43) drücken und du hast die Urkunde…

Habe aber im StA Liebemühl beim kurzen blättern schon diesen Eintrag gefunden

Ich hoffe, du kannst die Anleitung verstehen, wenn nicht, sag Bescheid. Ich werde versuchen zu übersetzen

The document I’ve loaded up yesterday is a birth certificate of 1885 (mothers name Luise Reihs, not married)

There are no Registrations documents before 1875 – for more details you have to search in Church records (that’s the 2nd Link I’ve sent)…

Thank you, Marion! I appreciate your offer. I am having the most trouble with the cursive, and magnifying the image does not improve my ability to read it. If you do not mind translating, I would be very grateful.

I checked out two books from the library on the history of Liebemühl. Both are entirely in German, of course! I am certain translating them will help immerse me in the language!

Unfortunatly Ute Brandenburg is a professional translator, but she also travels to FamilyHistoryCenter Utah twice a year, searches in church record books and so on. The charge is not much (I think) for the work she does, she’s found and given me so many details about my family.

But of course, I’ll help you with translating in future, too
